On December 7th, 2013, we launched the Mara Award, to honor both the life of someone very special to us and the ideas and work of someone who embraces encounters between artistic and scientific realms, while also providing enduring friendship and collegial support. The selection will be made by a distinguished committee outside of 2112.

We opened nominations for the award, and have received eight to date.

We also gathered to raise a glass to Kevan Shaw, advisor to the 2112, Inc. Board, who was just awarded the LUX Lighting Designer of the Year. Judges described Shaw as a “highly passionate and committed individual”
