Diderot Satellite Event

In October 2013, we celebrated Diderot’s Tricentennial: 300 years since the birth of the creator of the first Encyclopedia.

Host Neil Eisenberg brought together 2112 with Joce Zanzot’s visiting class of Landscape Architecture students from the University of Alabama, to examine Diderot’s legacy through a viewing of prints from the original Encyclopédie, short film screenings, and a presentation on this year’s Venice Biennale as a case study in encyclopedic art.
